Cute Name Signs

how cute are these signs?! here is the tutorial from KoJo Designs for the wooden one (top) & here is the tutorial for the jersey-ruffled one on the bottom. You will need to see how they create the ruffles - so here's their explanation for those.

now I'm not saying that this won't be time consuming (all of those ruffles that have to be made...) & scary (can you imagine cutting out 1/2" circles of wood & not chopping off fingers?!) but I think the end result is so adorable it would be worth it.

Valentine's Day Craftiness

well now I'm on a roll (apparently)...2 posts in one week!!

I pretty much 'religiously' check out about 20 blogs every day. hey - I have a little down time sometimes, don't judge. =)

today, since it's February 2nd & all - Remodelaholic has a lot of Valentine's Day crafts. I want to make pretty much all of them, but I'll highlight my very favorites.

Valentine's Day 'Love Frame'

I think this is very cute & could be great on a front door instead of a wreath.
This came from Lil' Luna's blog.

Pom-Pom Flowers

I must make these ASAP. They would be great not only for Valentine's Day but also to decorate in general. They seem super easy & look adorable. Now if only I could find a dry twig somewhere...
This craft originally came from Country Living's magazine.

Cherry Blossom Branches

This just looks spring-y & seems very simple. I think I may have just been bitten by the spring bug.
This was shown in Good Housekeeping's magazine.

Photo Display

Hello all - my it's been awhile since I've checked in. Apologies - things were busy & I really haven't been feeling very crafty the past couple of months. The craftiness tends to come in spurts.

I did run across the post on this awesome way to display photos. I love the tiny clothes pins & how easy it would be to change out the pictures.

see how cute this is?!

I found the link on Knock off Decor and then it linked to DIY Maven's blog.

I think I may use this & put in on my wall of keys & cameo's (that I haven't started yet. It's definitely a work in progress).

inspiration

so congrats to "The Comforts of Home" for providing me a picture of what i would LOVE for my 1st floor bathroom to look like so i can see what it will look like in the somewhat near future (when i actually start remodeling...)

i have wanes-coating in my upstairs bathroom & really want to bring it down to the other bathroom. i've been hoarding online wallpaper samples since i bought my house in may & this is pretty much exactly what i'd like my bathroom to look like and it seems that they are very similar in shape & size.

Halloween is coming!

so i'm not a HUUGGE halloween person. I enjoy dressing up & parties and all that good stuff, but i much prefer Fall decorations to Halloween decorations.

Alas - a crafty idea from the Better Homes and Gardens "e-newsletter" caught my eye.

i think the silhouettes look great in the windows and i can just see my house having a few "witches" in the windows. =) check out this link to find the PDF versions of the patterns.

this other idea for a fall-ish decoration is more up my alley but seems that it may be pretty time consuming & costly if you don't have all the items on hand.

here is the tutorial from Better Homes & Gardens: Felted Wool Pumpkin Pillow

since i have several trees in my front yard, plenty of tea lights & various tin cans at my disposal - i really enjoy this decoration:

here is the tutorial for this (easy!!!) decoration from Better Homes & Gardens: Tin Can Luminarias

Bottle Decor with Candy

the idea of having a whole bunch of candy as decoration sounds awesome but in my house - it may be an issue to actually keep the candy in the jar...

check out this "candy bottle decor"

the only other problem i foresee is getting the letters cut out nicely & getting them transferred to the bottles. oh - and remembering to save 5 of the same type bottles =)

i found this on Polly Want a Crafter on 10/4 but it originally came from Random Thoughts of a SUPERMOM.

Fall Garland

i really like this idea for a pumpkin & apple garland. i think painting each piece of cardboard might be a bit tedious, but i still like the scragily look of the twine with the pumpkins & apples.

i stumbled across this at the blog Polly Want a Crafter on October 1st but it was actually a contribution from the blog A Glimpse Inside.
