The pictures
So i finally got my pictures uploaded from Saturday, Sunday, yesterday & today. I'll start with Saturday's first. (NOTE: i need to teach myself to scale down the pics so if you click on the picture itself it will come up in a new window but it will be HUGE. I'll work on it. promise!)
3/28/09 - The beautiful trees outside the sidewalk of my townhouse. Sadly, Saturday was not the prettiest day cause it wanted to be rainy & gloomy, that's why the picture isn't exactly bright & shinny.
3/29/09 - this is going to be the start of the weekly pictures that show how my sad little plant is growing. I thought i'd killed this thing back in December and about 2 weeks ago it decided to sprout new life so i wanna see how fast it will grow.
3/30/09 - this is another picture of a different tree near my townhouse.
3/31/09 - this is a "Magnolia Tulip Tree" or "Saucer Tree" that is outside of my work & it is beautiful!
Well...for now - i'm done. i need to get abby to go outside and go to the bathroom then head upstairs to take a shower & read some. No NCIS watching for me tonight. =(

technical difficulties
so i planned on posting the pictures that i have taken from each day (well...starting Saturday) but my computer decided it didn't want to accept my camera's memory stick last night, so i'll work on getting them uploaded sometime soon.
but for now - i'll post some pictures of flowers that i only wish i could grow...

an added note: please stop in & check out the blog "Sarah's Sweet Lips" cause she has great posts on healthy meals & she is giving away a years subscription to one of four magazines!!

& so the beginning of a "new year" begins...
So in doing some online "stalking" I found a website that talks about why we should take a photo each day and publish it to a blog & I decided that I was going to try & do it...

so - semi new to the blogging world - i decided to jump in after daily reading several food bloggers' blogs. i am very jealous of their cooking abilities as well as their efforts when it comes to blogging daily.
well - to start at the (somewhat) beginning - my name is rachel & i currently live in "northern" VA. i graduated from Longwood (down in southern VA) in May & now work full time right outside of the Dulles airport area. i don't live at home with the 'rents anymore & some days i miss it more than others. i have two amazing sisters, one who is gone at college, whom i miss dreadfully, and one who still lives at home with the parents & whom i try to see as often as i can. they have grown up so much in the past 4 years it is just ridiculous & awesome. i feel like i can actually have adult conversations with them instead of sheltering what i say & bringing it down to "kid level." my parents are just as amazing. support & love are just two of the greatest things they have given me & i dont thank them enough for it. i have an awesome boyfriend who has made the move from farmville (where Longwood is located) up to NoVA to work & be a part of my life - and i (again) dont thank him enough for it.
having just graduated in may from college & now working full time as a "purchasing agent" / "procurement agent" - i am in need of some new, grown up things to do. joining my fathers community band every monday night, and continuing singing in the church choir every wednesday night & sunday morning was just not enough. i hope to get to know some awesome people through this. i also hope to one day actually have my own family & a kitchen to write about & interesting stuff that people may actually want to read about frequently. one day.
i can't promise great posts daily, but we'll see how it goes for awhile. enough for now.
